We are thrilled to announce that Prof. Jo Loo and Dr. Rachel Loo will join the 2025 Mass Spectrometry in Biotechnology and Medicine faculty.

Prof. Jo Loo (UCLA) is an expert in the mass spectrometry characterization of proteins and their post-translational modifications, and author of over 180 publications. He has been on the Editorial Boards of the journals Bioconjugate Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Journal of the American Society for Mass Spectrometry (JASMS), and Chemical & Engineering News and currently he serves on the Editorial Advisory Board for Rapid Communications in Mass Spectrometry and as an Associate Editor for JASMS.

Dr. Rachel Loo (UCLA) is a highly experienced scientist, co-authoring over 125 publications. Her research interests include the development of bioanalytical mass spectrometry methods for the structural characterization of proteins and the elucidation of ionization mechanisms for mass spectrometry. Dr. Loo was the 2020 recipient of the Al Yergey MS Scientist Award, recognizing her dedication and significant contributions to mass spectrometry-based science.

You can read more about Rachel, Jo and the rest of the 2025 MSBM Faculty here: https://msbm.org/faculty/

MSBM is a wonderful opportunity for those new to the field to learn about the fundamentals of mass spectrometry, share their work, and network with both their peers and the members of our world leading faculty. Registration for MSBM 2025 is now open.
